Background

A Texan by birth, I’ve lived and worked all over the world in my pursuit of educational opportunities. After spending three years working for Spain’s Ministry of Education in Valencia, I decided to pursue an MA in Broadcast Journalism from City University London.

I am passionate about media that captures and clarifies the tension where culture meets policy. My interest is in exploring the differences between our everyday realities, the laws meant to address these realities and the rapidly changing tech that often causes tension between the two.

My varied professional background, bolstered by my education, has prepared me to contribute to an ever changing media landscape. I look forward to opportunities to explore different ways of disseminating the news with a compassionate and accurate lens.

Published works

Articles

I gained experience at My London News, producing multiple articles for them on a variety of topics. One article in particular, based on my experience as an expat in London, performed very well. The article gained 25,000 page views and it also got picked up by the Mail online.

My London News creates a lot of content aimed at people either living just outside London or Londoners considering moving outside of the M25. I produced two ‘commuter town’ features about Chigwell and Epsom, based on a list published naming the best places to live.

My other works included a new shop opening, a topical piece on European countries imposing tourist taxes, and even London Marathon content about the busiest tube stations.

Digital Videos

I did work experience as a Social Digital Producer for Pod Save the UK. While there, I helped create episode trailers for their instagram account.

During my MA, I stumbled across a protest by chance and produced a piece for my university’s instagram. It was an excellent experience in luck and quick editing.

For my MA thesis, I produced and edited a short film about companies increasingly offering egg freezing as a perk for employees.

Volunteering

I currently volunteer with OPB and work with their events team to act as representation at different cultural and community events.

I recently had the opportunity to volunteer at the Everybody Reads 2026 event with Justice Ketanji Brown Jackson discussing her book, Lovely One.
